The concept of marriage causes such of flurry of emotions at just the sheer mention of it. There’s so much repetitive fuss to planning the occasion that there’s an entire industry built up to help you ensure that your special day is picture perfect. No one wants to break the traditions. It’s a whole ‘if you’re not with us, you’re against us’ mentality. Going hand in hand with these traditions are ingrained gendered stereotypes. Weddings are the stage for the ultimate gender performance. Stereotypes such as the ‘bridezilla’ and talks of groom getting ‘cold feet’ are just a couple of examples of this. It makes me wonder why all this drama exists in a moment based in love. Or maybe the drama is just another one of the traditions. Posing as both the bride and the groom of different couples in a constructed scene from the everyday wedding, I propose to question these ideals
